The 265,000-acre Susquehannock State Forest is located primarily in Potter County, with small areas in McKean and Clinton Counties. The mountainous terrain contains some of the best recreational opportunities in the state, regardless of weather you are looking to passively enjoy a drive to look over the many scenic vistas and observe the wildlife or are pursuing more active opportunities such as hiking, cross-county skiing, horseback riding, biking, ATV riding, snowmobiling, hunting or fishing. Susquehannock offers both primitive camping and motorized camping. All trails are open to non-motorized users unless posted closed. An 85-mile loop known as the Susquehannock Trail System is designated for hikers and cross-country skiers. A 43-mile ATV trail is open during the summer months and over 200 miles of roads and trails open for snowmobiles during the winter.
