Taste History

Wineries have been a staple of Pennsylvania life for centuries. William Penn brought the first grapevine to start Pennsylvania vineyards in the 17th century. Many vineyards established during the state's early history still produce delicious wines today. Here are a few of the best wineries in Pennsylvania for history lovers:

  • Rose Bank Winery: This site produces French-style wines on an estate built around 1719. On the property in Bucks County, you can see the manor and carriage house.
  • Adam's County Winery: This location houses the state's fifth-oldest vineyard and wine producer. The tasting room is in an 1860s barn and features classic and innovative flavors.
  • Penn Shore: One of the oldest and largest vineyards in the state, this venue in Pennsylvania's Great Lakes region has acres of vineyards and many delicious wine flavors.
