The town of Altoona was built around railroading, and the Altoona Curve™ has not forgotten that. The Double-A™ Pittsburgh Pirates™-affiliated team was not only named after a curveball pitch, but also after a nearby historic three-track railroad, the Horseshoe Curve. The home of the Altoona Curve™, Peoples Natural Gas Field, is even modeled after a railroad roundhouse and seats 7,200 fans. The field’s Rail Kings Seats were ranked among ESPN’s Top Ten Seats in Minor League Baseball™.
