New in 2009! Most children's museums are themed on art or science, but the Johnstown Children's Museum is themed on place—namely, Johnstown and western PA. Enjoy hands-on exhibits about the area's geography, industry, culture and ecology. Highlights include the "Inclimber," a climbing structure and slide based on Johnstown's Inclined Plane and the coal mine underneath it. A rooftop garden showcases native plants, and a water room allows kids to learn about dams and plumbing. The "Mix-Master Studio" allows kids to create their own soundtrack they might experience "hear" in Johnstown. You'll also have fun in the dress-up area and fashion runway, play store and kitchen. Check our website for frequent special events for kids! The museum is located inside the Heritage Discovery Center. As part of the Johnstown Discovery Network, your ticket includes admission to the Johnstown Flood Museum, Wagner-Ritter House & Garden, and other attractions in the Heritage Discovery Center.
