The Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead is a living history museum located in beautiful Ridley Creek State Park. The museum strives to represent and recreate the everyday lives of the regular citizens who lived in Southeastern Pennsylvania from 1760 to 1790. The 112-acre farm is dubbed a plantation according to land descriptions of the time. Holdings under 100 acres were described as farms, those over 100 acres as plantations, and those over 1000 acres as manors. Costumed interpreters, livestock, and restored and reconstructed buildings all serve to take you back in time and help you to experience how most people in this area lived during the end of the colonial period. During your self-guided tour, you are invited to talk to our interpreters and you may even be able to join in the work. Everyone will find something they enjoy at Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead where the past is your present.
