The most popular elk-viewing site in Pennsylvania, Winslow Hill provides two viewing areas with off-road parking. Listen for the famous bugling of the male elk during August-October, as the elk are in rut during this time of the year. Many trails and dirt roads are available for exploration. Wildlife includes white-tailed deer, black bear and fox. Wild Turkeys, Eastern Towhees and various songbirds are found throughout Winslow Hill. Respect private property and use caution while traveling. Elk and deer are abundant and unpredictable. Location: From Pennfield travel northeast on PA 255 for 6.5 miles to the intersection of PA 555. Veer east (right) onto PA 555 and drive 9.8 miles to the village of Benezette. In Benezette turn north (left) onto Winslow Hill Road and follow it 3.6 miles to the viewing area on the west (left) side of the road.
