Whether you’re a nature lover, history buff, foodie, photographer, or simply an explorer, the 72-mile West Branch Susquehanna River Scenic Byway between Karthaus and Cherry Tree is sure to delight. Featuring abundant wildlife, including elk, and dozens of state-designated historical markers, the picturesque byway largely follows the river along 11 routes, passing by Clearfield County’s historic McGee’s Mills Covered Bridge, the geologic marvels of Bilger’s Rocks, and the serene Curwensville Lake Recreation Area.
