Bellefonte, self-proclaimed as “Central Pennsylvania’s Victorian Secret,” holds rich history and culture in the Alleghenies region. Founded in 1795, Bellefonte has retained much of its Victorian architecture against a backdrop of the natural landscape and has been home to seven governors from three states. The Bellefonte Museum celebrates the humanities and the arts for families, housed in the historic Benner-Linn House with a permanent collection of artifacts along with changing exhibits that focus on Centre County history. The Bellefonte Historical Railroad hosts seasonal Fall Foliage and Christmas trains for visitors to enjoy and for outdoor enthusiasts, Bellefonte is home to some of the premier fly-fishing waters in Pennsylvania.
