1. More Baseball, Please!: The World of Little League®: Peter J. McGovern Museum

Named Pennsylvania’s top family attraction worth traveling for by FlipKey, this destination is perfect for baseball lovers of all ages. Open year-round, the Little League Museum is designed to educate visitors about the history, service, goals, and initiatives of Little League Baseball and Softball. The recently renovated museum and store are designed around a six-inning theme that allows you to have a self-guided, educational, and interactive experience, featuring audio and video stories, an interactive touchscreen table that connects every local Little League in the world, a catcher’s station, and a home plate-to-first base running exhibit.

2. Welcome to Our Neighborhood: Williamsport Welcomes the World

If you’re in Williamsport for a game on Friday, Aug. 26th join the fun at the 12th Annual Williamsport Welcomes the World celebration! During this street festival, welcome the teams and their families from all around the globe along with other baseball fans and the community. This free event includes live music, kid zones, food vendors, and merch!

3. The Water Lover: Hiawatha Riverboat Cruise

Water lovers can cruise the Susquehanna River in style with a ride on the beautiful Hiawatha paddle boat just down the road from the Little League ball games. A journey on this reproduction of the original patriotic riverboat offers you a taste of local heritage as you soak in the outstanding views of the surrounding banks. The “Hiawatha,” once used to transport residents to a park downriver, now delights its passengers with a number of theme cruises, including karaoke events and sunset concerts.

4. The History Buff: Original Little League Field

For the history lover, we suggest a pilgrimage to the well-maintained Original Little League field on West Fourth Street for a nostalgic glimpse into the past. This baseball field is where Carl E. Stoltz fine-tuned his concept of the sport of Little League Baseball into what we know it as today. He dreamed of a baseball league for boys that would teach fair play and teamwork, and that dream came true.

5. Did Sssssomeone Say Reptiles?: Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland

As a world-class specialized zoo, Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland offers an unparalleled educational adventure for the whole family! Exotic reptiles and amphibians from around the world await discovery in stunning, naturalistic habitats. Explore the world of mambas, cobras, vipers, pythons, and other rare and beautiful snakes, and experience alligators, gentle tortoises, curious lizards, and colorful frogs on this zoological journey. Do you have someone that is also a dinosaur lover? Reptiland has some of those as well. Dinosaurs Come to Life is an outdoor, animatronic dinosaur adventure. A visit to Reptiland sheds common myths and inspires scientific curiosity.

6. The Foodie (and anyone who likes good eats): Artisan Beer & Ice Cream

Hankering for something tasty to drink or sweet to eat? Williamsport boasts a number of destinations to satisfy any appetite, and a few make the can’t-miss list. For the adults who enjoy a good craft beer, Bullfrog Brewery has you covered. This award-winning microbrewery and bistro is located in the heart of downtown. Established in 1996 well before craft beer was a trend, this brewery has taken home many high honors, including medals at the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. Try the local favorite, the Edgar IPA — a tribute to Edgar Allen Poe’s short story “Hop Frog.”

For those with a sweet tooth, the Sunset Ice Cream Parlor has been serving frozen treats since 1977. Newer to the scene, but equally delicious, Sprinkled Sweet offers artisan ice cream and homemade bakery items.
