Celebrate National Wine Day at these 22 Pennsylvania Wineries & V

You don’t need to travel to Tuscany or Napa Valley to experience great wine. Over more than a century, winemaking has taken root in Pennsylvania culture, with generations of families cultivating grapes across the state. On May 25, National Wine Day, celebrate the history of winemaking in Pennsylvania and taste the fruits of our winemakers’ labor at any one of these special events.

1. Rose Bank Winery

Newtown

A historic winery in beautiful Bucks County, Rose Bank Winery is situated on land originally deeded by William Penn to his daughters and consists of the manor house constructed in 1719 as well as several other buildings to explore. Visitors who love history and wine will enjoy all that Rose Bank has to offer including tours, tastings, picnics, weddings, parties, and meetings.

Located on a 200-year-old Bucks County estate less than a mile from Washington Crossing, Crossing Vineyards and Winery is a unique, family-owned, 20-acre state-of-the-art vineyard. The tasting room and gift shop are open year-round, offering an intimate setting for weddings, rehearsal dinners, concerts, private parties, and corporate gatherings.

Wycombe Vineyards makes exclusive vintage wines for visitors to savor and enjoy. Their artisanal process uses French oak chips in stainless steel tanks to enhance the flavor and aging process with grapes straight from their estate vineyard. Sip on a variety of wines, from their semi-dry Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay to their sweet and seasonal dessert wines.

4. Buckingham Valley Vineyards

Founded in 1966, Buckingham Valley Vineyards & Winery is Bucks County's first winery and one of the largest in Pennsylvania. What started as a dream between two students sharing a dorm room at the University of Pennsylvania came to life with the support of family and friends, first as a 5-acre vineyard producing less than a thousand gallons to what it is today: an estate over 40 acres that produces 35,000 gallons of wine a year, offering reds, whites, rosés and ports, and the county's only naturally fermented champagne.

6. Sand Castle Winery

Described as elegant, scenic, and one of a kind, the 72-acre Sand Castle Winery offers a 17-mile view of the picturesque Delaware River Valley and a place for guests to enjoy and learn about their wines. Designated as an official viticultural district where wines are made exclusively from grapes grown on the property, guests can taste and take a tour of the 21,000- square-foot winery castle with its 30-foot deep underground wine cellar.

7. Rushland Ridge Vineyard & Winery

In an idyllic Bucks County farm setting, Rushland Ridge Vineyard & Winery is run by a family of winegrowers who have been crafting quality wines since 1968. Their tasting room offers friendly service and a rustic feel with a light pine interior and a wood-burning stove in winter. With estate-grown reds, whites, rosés, and specialty wines, there is a wide variety of wine waiting to be tasted and enjoyed.

8. Penns Woods Winery

Taste wine from winemakers with over 40 years of experience. Italian immigrant Gino Razzi and his daughter Carley started producing wines as a passion project, which later grew to become a 30-acre winery overlooking rolling vineyards. Penns Woods Winery uses modern technology and old-country methods to produce reds, whites, and rosés from 100 percent Pennsylvania grapes. There is an abundance of outdoor seating, a custom pavilion, and live music on the lawn every weekend.

9. Grace Winery

A tranquil haven on 50 acres in the beautiful Brandywine Valley, this historic estate and winery features a charming manor house with three rooms from the original Quaker farmhouse, a winery, and a renovated 1750s era barn, which is home to the winery’s tasting room. Guests at the Inn at Grace Winery can enjoy cozy fire pits, vineyard strolls, and meet the neighboring farm animals.

10. Deer Creek Winery

21. Eagles Rest Cellars

A vineyard, winery, and Christmas tree farm in the serene Cherry Valley, Eagles Rest Cellars is home to over 900 vines trellised in the high-top wire style of growing. There is a plentiful selection of wines to taste including reds, whites, and seasonal favorites, along options with for all sizes of gatherings, groups, or solo tasters. Exploring and bird watching for eagles is also highly encouraged.
