1. Clarion Countryside

Explore the scenic routes throughout the Clarion Countryside. Catch a glimpse of breathtaking fall foliage at Cook Forest State Park, quiet farms, and quaint small towns. Experience the history and heritage of southern Pennsylvania with a trip along Route 30. Incorporated into the transcontinental Lincoln Highway built in the early 1900s, Pennsylvania’s section dates back to much earlier times from roads constructed in the mid to late-1700s. You’ll see historic sites, beautiful scenery, and enjoy the city lights of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with a trip along this iconic route — the first road in North America made of crushed stone.
4. Groundhog Loop
Punxsutawney
Where else but Pennsylvania can you take a drive named after the world’s most beloved groundhog?! The 107-mile Groundhog Loop features PA’s one-and-only Punxsutawney Phil. Notable destinations include Punxsutawney — home of Phil and the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center — and DuBois Harley Davidson, “The Most Unique Harley Davidson Dealership in the U.S.A. and definitely worth the stop, along with some spectacular scenery along the way!

Named “one of America’s most scenic drives” by National Geographic Travel and Pennsylvania’s best touring route by Harley Davidson, Route 6 offers a simply magical ride. Whether you opt to journey across the entire 400+ miles of open road connecting the state from east to west or one (or more) of the loop trails specifically designed for motorcyclists, you’re in for the ride of a lifetime! 7. Route 655
Armagh
Fall is the perfect time to travel Route 655 and along the back roads of Kishacoquillas Valley (a.k.a., “Big Valley”). Along with magnificent views of the area’s mountains and countryside, it’s harvest time for PA’s second largest Amish community. Be sure to stop in the small, locally owned shops where you’ll find lots of local culture and tasty cuisine!
8. Highway to the Stars
Coudersport
Pennsylvania’s officially designated Highway to the Stars is so much better than anything you’ll find in Hollywood! Also known as Route 44, the road passes right through Cherry Springs State Park — a designated Gold Level Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association. The views are truly out of this world!
